Welcome to Emotionally Me Academy, an online mental health and emotional wellbeing education platform providing self-paced learning, educational workbooks, wellbeing resources and community membership designed to help adults better understand emotional regulation, nervous system health, resilience and personal wellbeing.

Your privacy matters to us. We believe that supporting your emotional wellbeing should never come at the expense of your personal privacy. We collect only the information genuinely needed to provide our services while giving you as much control over your personal information as possible.

We promise to collect only the information we genuinely need, explain clearly how your information is used, never sell your personal information, keep your information secure using trusted technologies, respect your choices and privacy rights, and treat your information with the same care we'd expect for our own.

What Information We Collect

Account Information

email address, login credentials or secure authentication information, and confirmation that you are aged 18 or over.

Membership Information

subscription status, resources accessed, workbook progress and saved preferences.

Payment Information

Payments are securely processed by trusted providers such as Stripe. Emotionally Me Academy does not store your payment card details.

Technical Information

Device, browser, operating system, IP address, usage, performance and security information.

Understanding how the site is used

We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to see how people move around the site — which pages are visited, roughly which country a visit comes from, and what kind of device is used — so we can keep making it better. It uses no cookies, never stores your IP address, and cannot identify you or follow you across other websites. It never sees your check-in, your reflections, or anything you write — those stay private to you, and your reflections never leave your device. We collect the least we can while still learning what's working.

What We Don't Collect

We deliberately avoid collecting information that isn't necessary. We never sell your personal information, ask for unnecessary sensitive information or collect information simply because we can. Where private journals or reflections are stored locally on your own device, they remain under your control and are not accessible to Emotionally Me Academy.

No advertising trackers or pixels

We do not use advertising pixels or website trackers of any kind, and we set no third-party advertising cookies. The only cookie we use is the essential one that keeps you securely signed in. Nothing on this site follows you around the internet, and we never track what you read here.

We use social media and marketing platforms — such as Metricool, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok and Google — only to publish content and to read the platforms' own audience figures for the posts we share there. We place none of their tracking pixels on this website, and we never upload our members' details or build ‘custom audiences’ from them. We use these platforms to reach people, never to track them.

Our own analytics is Vercel Web Analytics — first-party and cookieless. It counts aggregate page visits only; it never sees anything you type, your private reflections, or your check-in, and we never share it outside Emotionally Me. Your reflections stay on your device and never reach our servers, and how you feel when you check in is only ever counted anonymously — never tied to you. Payments are handled by Stripe only at the point of checkout.

Business enquiries

If you contact us through our Workplace Wellbeing enquiry form, we collect the details you provide — your name, organisation, job title, email address, and (optionally) telephone number, along with your organisation size, the workshop type and delivery preference you're interested in, and your message. We use this information solely to respond to your enquiry and to discuss workshops or wellbeing partnerships with you. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not sell it. We keep enquiry records only as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any resulting conversation, and you can ask us to delete them at any time by emailing support@emotionallymeacademy.com.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to create and manage your account, provide Academy resources, manage memberships, process payments, provide customer support, improve the Academy, maintain security, comply with legal obligations and send important service communications. Marketing communications are sent only where appropriate and you may unsubscribe at any time.

Legal Basis

We process information under one or more lawful bases recognised by UK GDPR, including performance of a contract, legitimate interests, legal obligation and consent where applicable.

Trusted Service Providers

We work with carefully selected providers for website hosting, secure databases, payment processing, email delivery, analytics and website security. Our website analytics is Vercel Web Analytics — operational and cookieless: it uses no cookies and stores no IP address. They process information only where necessary to provide our services.

Keeping Your Information Safe

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration and disclosure. While no online service can guarantee absolute security, we continually review and improve our security measures.

How Long We Keep Information

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our services, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and maintain appropriate business records. Information that is no longer required is securely deleted or anonymised where reasonably possible.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal information, receive a copy where applicable and withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's supervisory authority for data protection, at ico.org.uk.

Deleting your account and your data

You can leave at any time, straight from your account — you don't need to email us first. From your account menu you can choose to permanently delete your account or, if you're a paying member, simply stop paying and keep a free account. Either way, we email you a link to confirm it's really you before anything happens, and that link can be used only once and expires after about an hour.

Permanent deletion erases your account and the personal data we hold about you — including your login, your membership and your Academy progress — and it cannot be undone. We keep only a limited amount of information where the law requires it — for example, records tied to a payment must be kept for accounting purposes — and we only keep what we're required to, for as long as we're required to.

If instead you stop paying and move to a free account, your membership continues until the end of the period you've already paid for and then ends; your paid Academy progress clears at that point, while your free account and login remain, and you're welcome to rejoin later. Anything you write in your private reflections or journal is stored only on your own device and is never sent to us, so we hold no copy to delete — you can remove it by clearing your browser's storage on that device. Our anonymous check-ins are never linked to you, so there is nothing there to erase.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the website, improve performance, remember preferences and understand website usage. Our website analytics is cookieless and sets no analytics cookies, so it needs no cookie banner. Where required by law, we will request your consent before placing non-essential cookies.

Children

Emotionally Me Academy is intended for adults aged 18 years and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
